NISA director receives Jack Layton award

The Jack Layton Award for Leadership was just one of the awards handed
out on May 23 at the Sudbury Social Justice Awards, an annual event
organized by community members and the Sudbury NDP. Read article printed in


NISA is happy to announce that we will be offering Mental Pencil, our
very popular 8-week writing workshop. Beginning on Thursday, June 13, it
will be offered on Thursday afternoons starting at 1 p.m. and
facilitated by local short story writer and playwright Richard Pulsifer.
This workshop is based on NISA’s book Mental Pencil, a step-by-step
guidebook and workbook for telling your life stories. Pre-registration
is required and only a few spots are still available, so please sign up
